Alot of ppl tink pistol is difficult to shoot cos pistol shooters dun hav the luxury of suiting up like the rifle shooters. And we totally hav nothing to suppport the gun other than the grip...
Few Tips for pistol shooters

1) ur sight relations...just make sure the heights of ur rear sights and front sight is at the same heights, the light spacing between ur rear sight and front signt are equal.

2) Ur focus should be on ur sights instead on the target, try not to let ur focus run to the balck spot of the target whn aming at the sub-6 area.

3) Trigger - Unlike the rifle method, pistol triggering method is totally different. Just keep on applying constant pressure on ur second pressure as u move ur sights down to the aiming area until ur shots release by itself.

4) Follow through, rembmer to follow through after every shots, after ur shot is release, maintain ur trigger and sights alignment, if not u'll notice all ur shots will go low, a 10 might just become a 8 or 9...

NOOOO. how can you say that pistol triggering is totally different from rifle!? lol. hahaha. wad makes you think shooters from elsewhere do not use such a triggering method on their rifle triggering. don't be too quick to assume triggering methods.

there is more than one way to trigger off a shot for rifle. though not very popular in the local shooting scene, i'm quite sure there are rifle shooters who use the pistol triggering technique in their shot routine.

even though there isn't any standard kind of triggering method...but isn't it the common method...? correct me if i'm wrong...cos i really not too sure abt rifle triggering method.

Pistol Triggering Method is more of like common for wad i wrote...different shooters hav different style of shooting/triggering...but pistol trigger weight is not as light compare to rifle...i seriously like the weight of rifle trigger, currently the weight on the pistol i'm using, that's the lightest i can put for pistol. Sad

If u like to start squeezing ur 2nd pressure early, ur weight shld be heavier and vice versa for shooters who squeeze at later timing.

Different triggering method is also due to the different pistol aiming area. Most ppl will prefer to aim ard the 4th or 5th ring, becos there is plenty of white area for ur reference, and u'll be able to focus ur sight more easily, at the same time squeezing ur trigger.

Of course, if u'r using the method i've said earlier, Snatching the trigger is a no no...u'll realise all ur shots to go diagonally bottom left or right, there are also other factors affecting ur shots grouping, like grip control, natural alignment, trigger position etc etc...

i know boss said my previous triggering method was more suitable for pistol.. and not rifle.. i had to change it.. but my problem is.. im so afraid of holding my first pressure hard because of the rifle's light trigger! T.T

But holding the 1st pressure hard is good, somehow u'll feel ur gun is more stable. But u said ur previous method is more suitable for pistol? Won't u be more afraid of ur trigger?
Becos for pistol, not only ur 1st pressure must be firm, the way u control muz be also very fine, but not to anticipate ur shots.

After training like crazy for 3mths on juz white card, make my triggering quite smooth now but i'm still afraid of the trigger sometimes, the scary part is ur shot might go out whn u started shaking or trembling for no reason...thn the shot will go out to 5 or 6...whn u r able to hit a 9

PostSubject: a good training regime for pistol shooters ;D   Sun Apr 12, 2009 10:25 pm

hi people, this website has a pretty good training regime for pistol shooters which i think it's worth taking a look.
http://www.potfire.com.au/info/airtrain.htm
(most of you might know this webby)
if you're looking for the lost 'feeling' where you'd shot a 10 on your target card with the right mind and soul which you can't get the right 'feeling' now, this website is best for you to get back to the rhythm and *bang*.. BULLSEYE! Wink

就算到最后,并没得到,但是至少知道自己曾经努力过.
(even if you did not acheive it eventually, at least, you know you'd worked hard for it.)
